The teahouse Ito Kyuemon in Uji, Kyoto has been developing sweets using Uji matcha tea for more than 15 years. Matcha tea is loved by many and enjoyed by people of all ages.
At the same time, and in the same way, curry is popular with everyone from children to adults. These two popular items have now come together to create a matcha tea curry that only a tea house can make.

[Ito Kyuemon's passion for matcha]
1. Carefully select high-grade tea leaves of Uji
The river mist floats around the Uji River area and gently covers the tea leaves. Only high-quality tea leaves picked in the best season are selected and used for this tea.
2. Traditionally ground with a stone mill
The traditional "stone mill grinding method" has been used for matcha production for many years. The vivid, deep green color can only be created by stone mill grinding.
3. Freshly ground matcha
Carefully-ground matcha has mild umami and a rich flavor. It's delivered in as fresh a state as possible.



[Features of Uji matcha tea]
The fresh greenery of the middle of May... Picking Uji matcha tea starts after around 99 nights have passed (the beginning of May is the 88th day). It is picked when the plant has 5 leaves and the 5th leaf has a sprout.
Quality matcha tea that is used in tea ceremonies etc is carefully hand-picked, not only in ancient times, but also today.
The picked tea leaves are manufactured the same day. They are steamed without rubbing and then dried using a traditional method to create tencha, a raw material of matcha powder.
This is carefully ground using a millstone to create Uji matcha tea.

Founded in 1832! It's located in Uji Kyoto which is famous for high-quality tea, and is close to Ujigami Shrine, a designated World Heritage site, and Mimurotoji Temple, famous for its flower temple.

[When cooking in the microwave]
①Remove from bag without opening it,​ place in the microwave with the "omote men" facing upward and heat for approx. 2 minutes.
②When heating,​ the bag will naturally expand and vapor will be released from the steam hole.
③After heating,​ be sure to check that it has stopped letting off vapor and take out using the handle on the top of the bag.
*Estimated heating time (500W: 2 minutes) (600W: 1 minute 40 seconds)
[When heating in hot water]
Put bag in boiling water as-is without opening it. Heat for approx. 5 minutes.

*When you have heated it up,​ consume as soon as possible.
*Do not use in an industrial use microwave.
*Do not heat in the oven or in an oven toaster.
*Do not use the automatic heating function when heating in a microwave.
*When heating with water,​ do not put a lid on the pot.
*After heating. the bag and content may be hot so be careful not to burn yourself.
*When reheating,​ be sure to move content to a pot etc and heat.
