Yumeji Takehisa is famous for creating beautiful women images that represent the Taisho romantic period.
Yumeji also used his designs in daily items and ran the "Minatoya Soushiten" which sold hand towels, yukata, woodblock prints, small paper envelopes, chiyogami, lined letter papers and envelopes. He also produced other commercial designs, book binding designs and many other items and became the forerunner of Japan's graphic artists.
Yumeji works are noted for their bold pattern and unique color combinations. Using scenes from daily life, he has created innovative works with a nostalgic aura that transcend time and are still loved today.
