Saemidori is a highly functional tea cultivar said to originate from Kagoshima Prefecture. Saemidori is a hybrid of cultivars called asatsuyu and yabukita. It has little of the characteristic astringency of green tea and features a mellow, refined flavor. When brewed at 70-80°C, you can enjoy a sweet taste and a brilliant dark green color. This contains lots of theanine, an amino acid.
