The climate and culture of the 47 prefectures that make up the Japanese archipelago,
which runs long & narrow from north to south, vary greatly.
With the hosting of the 2019 Rugby World Cup various parts of Japan will become the center of attention, so at WOAH! JAPAN we will be introducing the nature, seasons, sightseeing spots, foods & specialty items of such areas every month!

We have the pleasure to introduce you Iwate in our 12th and last edition of the series.
Iwate is the second largest prefecture in Japan –bigger than the Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba areas combined- and is has been famous for its rice cultivation culture which dates back to 2,000 years ago.
It is a 2 hour ride by bullet train from Tokyo, and is the perfect place to enjoy the impressiveness of nature and the abundance of food and ingredients.
