Natural essence of lavender, which has long been favored for its relaxing scent, is plentifully used to make this additive-free kettle-cooked soap. It is said the name of lavender originated from a word which means "to wash". It is often associated with cleanliness, and natural lavender oil contains linalyl acetate which is said to ease pain and soothe the nerves. Furthermore, the scent of lavender is said to relax the body and to be effective for easing headaches and aiding sound sleep. The skin feels smooth and sleek and you can feel the slight scent of lavender after washing.

*When making soap by kettle cooking, factors such as season, temperature, humidity, heat, and, above all, experience are important. It is said only several companies and craftsmen can perfectly manage that method in Japan. After heating, the soap is naturally dried and matured again and again, and cut into pieces by hand. Each carefully-handmade soap bears certain warmth and charm which cannot be seen in soaps made in mass by machines, so it is elegant like sophisticated wagashi sweets.
