Edo Glass, a traditional craft recognized by the Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry.
The cut and sandblasted finish on the surface of the glass shows a red plum blossom pattern, known as a symbol of good luck since ancient times as it blooms early.
Beautiful glass wares with a vivid red coloring. A small amount of gold is mixed into the glass ingredients to give it a color known as "ruby gold". The inner colored glass is then covered with clear glass on the outside using a hand-done process known as "uchikise", that creates a beautiful two-layered piece.
Each item is a unique gem painstakingly made by skilled craftsmen. Registered design. Also includes a special wooden display stand as well as a wooden box and bow that makes it a great choice as a gift.

[Edo Glass]
Edo Glass is a handmade traditional craft that began in the Edo Period in the Edo Region (present-day Tokyo). Glass is melted at a high temperature in a crucible and then wound on a blowing iron, where it is blown and shaped into a variety of forms by skilled craftsmen.
It is a technique which has been kept alive in the region for many generations. These craftsmen use traditional methods passed on from the Edo period to create painstakingly hand-crafted class wares with classic appeal that continues to this day in modern Tokyo.

This item is handmade.
The lead crystal 24% lead oxide glass adds extra weight to the feel while also increasing light refractiveness, for even more lovely transparency and shimmer.
This special characteristic is highlighted by cutting and other techniques in the finest quality items.
